Rosetrees is pleased to announce Dr Nicholas McGranahan as the winner of our 2016 Prize for Research Excellence. This award was open to all Rosetrees supported students who completed their PhD in 2014/2015, and all of the applications we received were exceptional. The runners up for the award were Dr Ben Engelhard (Hebrew University) and Dr Suzanne Eldridge (QMUL).
Nicholas completed his PhD at UCL, under the guidance of Professor Charles Swanton. His project focused on understanding the genetic diversity within tumours and what this means clinically. During his studies, he published over 20 papers, in journals including Nature, Science and Cancer Cell, and was invited to present his work at more than 15 national and international conferences. Nicholas will receive his prize at our PhD Symposium, to be held at QMUL on 21st September 2016.
Rosetrees is very proud to support young researchers at the start of their careers, and recognise the importance of giving students the opportunity to become the future leaders of research.
Congratulations to Nicholas, Ben and Suzanne!
